Are You A Virtual Assistant Who Works Hard & Repels Money?

I consult with a lot of virtual assistants who work really hard. Many work too hard and I work with them on how to work less and make more. Working hard is not a bad thing. However, when you are working hard on the wrong things it causes you to work more and make less. Working less doesn’t mean you are delivering poor results and certainly, you shouldn’t feel guilty about making more money even if you are working fewer hours. That’s an employee mindset.

Your value isn’t in how many hours you put in the day. It’s in the output, systems, and automation of your work. Trust me when I tell you clients don’t want a virtual assistant who works tons of hours. Nor do they want to receive that bill!

Being a VA business owner means you are your very first client. Don’t fall prey to the category of being like the cobbler whose children have no shoes. Whatever services you are offering first and foremost you should be serving your own business too.

Are you a content writer who doesn’t put out your own content? Are you a system and automation expert that doesn’t have any systems or automations in place for yourself? Are you a technical VA who hasn’t updated your own website or conducted your own webinars? All of these things mean you are working hard for someone else and not only repelling client income but losing out on diversifying your income streams as well.

If you are a virtual assistant that has a growing business and hasn’t hired a VA to assist you – not a team member or subcontractor, you’re own assistant – not only are you losing money you are repelling money by not believing in what you sell your clients.

Never having made the investment in yourself you have no idea what your client is thinking during this time and can’t possibly address their concerns properly. How could you? You have never committed to paying an expense you hope and desire to be an investment. You might as well be a personal trainer who is out of shape and eats terribly but trains others on how to get healthy. How many people do you think hire this type of trainer? No one.
